Retail sales grew their weakest for any November since 2011. Retailers normally enjoy strong growth throughout November due to Black Friday and the proximity to the Christmas period.
Instead this period brought meagre growth as shoppers held back on Black Friday, a day of U.S. sales promotions which has been adopted by British retailers over the past few years.
This year’s dip in sales is thought to be caused by the increase in online shopping. Many shoppers may have also been deterred by the negative press coverage which follows Black Friday with many shoppers behaving outrageously.
Historically, Black Friday has been a day which security companies, like ourselves, have to be well prepared for. We take several measures for our clients to ensure customer experience does not dip through this busy time period.
It is extremely important to us that our client’s reputation is enhanced by partnering with our services and that customer experience is improved wherever possible.
