Last week saw our second annual Security Excellence Awards where our employees where recognised for the great work they do for us, our clients and the community. Below is a summary of the winners from the day.

Winner of Retail Security Officer of the Year 2019 was Stephen Smith

"Stephen has continually gone above and beyond for Cordant since he has joined, he has become the go to man in the precinct where he works, providing medical assistance to members of the public and supporting the police."

Winner of Retail Manager of the Year 2019 was Tim Whiting

"Tim has served as an officer within Cordant and rose from the shop floor and aspired to Operations Manager. He has delivered KPIs to an exceptionally high standard by training and coaching officers and his diligence and fortitude have been recognised by the client who recognises him as an outstanding manager."

Winner of W&D Officer of the Year 2019 was Michael Ennis

"Michael has been put forward for this award for consistently going above and beyond the clients expectations to ensure the service delivery to the client is exceptional. Nothing has been too much trouble. His actions have made a real difference."

Winner of Corporate Officer of the Year 2019 was James Clewes

"Since James assumed the operational management role I have received nothing but positive feedback from the client regarding his performance, professional manner, attention to detail and the way he conducts himself."


"His professionalism in dealing with practical matters of building management, managing our guests and creating a safe and cordial environment is second to none."

Winner of Corporate/W&D Manager of the Year 2019 was John Boss

"John gained three large distribution centres within his portfolio all of which the previous incumbent security provider had failed to provide basic security requirements. After a very busy Christmas and New Year, in early January the three sites were fully recruited and now consistently achieving the required 100% SLA scores."

Winner of Support Staff of the Year 2019 was Jean Twose 

"Jean has worked for the Cordant Group for the last 19 years. As Group Payroll Manager she manages the payroll department for over 7000 salaried and hourly paid staff on a monthly basis. She is also responsible for all payroll related compliance with external bodies."


Congratulations Jean and well done to our finalists Katie Carry and Banaras Khan.

Winner of Team of the Year 2019 was the Kingswinford Pre-Employment Team

"The whole team play a vital role in the success of Cordant Security. The team are often asked to perform extra tasks which they do so unquestionably and to the highest standard. The team continually meet all audit requirements with flying colours and are always professional and enthusiastic"

Winner of the Customer Service Award 2019 was Gemma Hanlon

"Gemma has been an invaluable member of the onsite team. Over the previous year we have had testimonials from the clients Senior Management and visitors alike detailing how Gemma goes the extra mile and always has a smile on her face. More importantly though it is her passion for the security role that she performs. A true asset to Cordant and the client."

Winner of the Community Award 2019 was James Larkman

"James was nominated for his kindness and willingness to comfort a young man with autism when he was feeling very anxious. James has now become a family friend and even takes the young man to football matches with his own family."
