Last month Cordant Projects launched the Passport to Work scheme with an open day at Manchester College inviting all students on building and construction courses.
The programme aims to tackle the growing skills gap in the construction industry where students are leaving colleges around the country and not having the necessary skills to go into work.
Students at Manchester College will have the opportunity to work on live sites that Cordant Projects are working on from domestic projects to full commercial works including restaurant renovations and hotel builds.
At the end of their course and apprenticeship some students will have the opportunity to join Cordant on a permanent basis giving them a real path from education to the workplace.
Since the open day over 100 students have registered interest in the program.
